Research areas

His Ph.D. research activity is focused on the study of the thermophysical properties of fluids, among which environmentally friendly refrigerants and their blends. In particular, the following activities are carried out:

  • measurement of the PvT (pressure-volume-temperature) properties which define the thermodynamic state of refrigerants and their blends using an isochoric apparatus;

  • measurement of the properties of the triple point for pure refrigerants and the solid-liquid equilibrium of blends containing alternative refrigerants;

  • study and development of models for the calculation of thermophysical properties and fluid phase equilibria of pure fluids and blends.

Capsule bio

Sebastiano Tomassetti was born in Civitanova Marche (MC) in January 1991. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2013 and his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2016, from the same university. He started his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (DIISM) of Università Politecnica delle Marche. His main research topic is the study of the thermophysical properties of environmentally friendly refrigerants.
